Professor elected to leadership position with American Economic Association

Adriana Lleras-Muney
Economics professor Adriana Lleras-Muney has been elected to the executive committee of the American Economic Association for a three-year term beginning Jan. 7, 2018.
As a member of the executive committee, Lleras-Muney will oversee 15 sub-committees and provide guidance and leadership on special needs or actions. The association is the profession’s most important society, publishing seven economics journals, and having over 18,000 members.
Lleras-Muney’s research studies the relationships between socioeconomic status and health, the effect of disease on income and economic development, and the determinants of fertility.
